I have an HP 470 G3 laptop .  It has an i5 processor and 8 gigs of memory.
Several blue screens have occurred in the past week.  I have not added or changed any hardware on this laptop for several years.

The WhoCrashed report suggests the problem is caused by a hardware malfunction.
I am not a Windows expert.   What information do you need to determine the cause of these blue screens?  This forum will not let me upload a dmp file.

    Thank you for your help.

The WhoCrashed report suggests the problem is caused by a hardware malfunction

Since WhoCrashed report suggested a hardware issue, and from what you said about the BlueScreen happening  more than once in the past week I suggest you determine the manufacturer of your hard drive and test it.

For instance, I have a Western Digital HD. Their testing program can be downloaded. In my case the program’s name is Western Digital Lifeguard Diagnostics.

Programs for all major hard drives are available online.

You can find out what hard drive you have in Device Manager>Disk Drives.

Also you can test your RAM.

Type: Windows Memory Diagnostic tool in search box. This will require a reboot.

Other tests are available for video chips/cards.

Seriously consider (i.e., plan for) setting up for saving your hard drive critical data. Years ago I had a similar scenario; eventually the drive went bad. I suggest that you don’t do a Defrag (before saving data), it may accelerate any failure progression. Other hardware errors are unlikely to result in significant data loss.

At least give us all the details from the WhoCrashed report, upload a zipped crash dump somewhere publicly accessible and supply the link.

In addition to the recommendation by @bluetrix to download the disk drive manufacturer’s diagnostics software, I’d like to suggest downloading the trial version of Hard Disk Sentinel. It offers a slew of disk-health monitors that are not hard to interpret, and may give you an idea of how much time your drive has left before it fails.

Also, since your laptop is made by HP, check out your HP accessories in the Start menu: there may be a hardware diagnostics program in there–for example a couple of my HP PCs have a program called PC Doctor, but of course the name may have changed.
