Not software, but what are your thoughts/recommendations? I’m looking for a service that will automatically forward all incoming mail to another account, (without the spam strings attached..) any insight would be appreciated!

      Hi Drk

Have you checked out http://www.zdnetonebox.com? It’s a free email, phone and fax service which also provides automatic forwarding of email as well as filters for excluding unwanted messages. I’ve had an account there for a couple of years and have yet to receive any spam. there’s also a feature to have notification sent to ICQ if you’re interested in that.

It would have been nice, but they don’t have service in my area code (503 – Oregon). So it would be long distance. Aw well.

I’ve been using a bigfoot.com account for a number of years, and I’ve not had a problem with SPAM being generated by them.

They have the filters, and a few other premium options, if you’re interested.

I’ve used the standard “free” service without any major problems.

This is only an address that you set to forward someplace else. It’s not a service you can go to for retreiving e-mail, or sending. Example: your address is DrkRealm@bigfoot.com, it forwards to another_account@someisp.com.

I’ve used Bigfoot too and rarely had any problems with it. However, some internet email sources allow you to automatically forward the mail directly to another address. Bigfoot sweeps mail from another address and forwards it to the address (or addresses) you specify.

I have a tip to help you with SPAM, this will help anyone who posts adverts etc…

If you have a problem with SPAM, because you need to sign up for something, and are fed up with getting too many messages back in response, do what I do and have several email IDS.

Use one of your IDS, where you don’t want to read the responses to sign up wherever you need, ie if you need to place adverts to FFA groups, or yahoo groups etc.. On this ID set up an auto forward to a second ID.

The first ID could be hotmail or yahoo, or my preferred eurosport.com

The second ID must be one that you can filter mail out from and automatically delete it like you can at Freeze.com

Setting the second account to automatically delete any mail sent from the first ID controls SPAM for you.

Simple but effective, no more clogged up in baskets.

I like http://www.email.com. Free, simple and it will forward to any other e-mail address you desire. I’ve been using for over three years with no reliability or junk problems. Best of all, I like the address: ______@email.com
