I have a client which had been using A2003 and just upgraded to A2007. No problems except for 1 report. It was a summary report which only showed 1 line per month, so it was only 1 page with from 1 to 12 lines (depending on when they ran it in the year). When they previewed it in A2007, instead of seeing the monthly totals, all they got was a big black area under the column headings. When I got to see it finally, I realized that the totals eventually did show; but there was maybe a page or 2 of black, then a total, then more black, then another total, etc.

I fixed it by making the Detail section invisible. But when telling a friend about it, he said “maybe there was a control in the detail section?”. But the report was designed with a Detail section with a height of 0″, and when I expanded the section I couldn’t see any controls. At least at first. But there was one! It was a Line control with Top=0″ and Height=0″! Apparently A2003 treats a Detail section of Height=0″ as invisible, whereas A2007 doesn’t, so it kept printing that line. Fun times!

Thanks, it’s good to keep that in mind.

You have to admire the way that MS can break stuff that wasn’t broken.
        Add stuff you didn’t want
        and remove stuff you did.

        And I like Office 2007

I can’t really say they “broke” it, because there is logic to what it is doing. It just isn’t consistent to the way it was before; which is usually the most important thing.
