Install Logitech Webcam C920s

Just bought a Logitech Webcam 920s (tough find as almost every seller is out of stock for webcams as more people are working from home and China is way behind).

While it doesn’t say it is Plug and Play, the installation instructions is a quarter sheet size and simply shows a diagram to plug the USB connector into the computer.

FAQ’s that I found on the internet say it is Plug and Play with Windows 10 and one can use the Windows Camera app.  If you want more control, install the Logitech Capture software.

Looking for comments from anyone running a Logitech Webcam.  Installation tips and whether one really needs the Logitech Capture software for normal office activity.

I’m not looking to make videos to save, you tube posts, etc just office meetings and perhaps some doctor televisits.

Can’t speak to that particular camera but I have found that most I have done, and all laptop cams I’ve dealt with, have seemed to work fine with just windows drivers. Not sure if the Logitech software might have some added features or benefit or if it may just be bloat.

It should just plug in and work.  Go to zoom.com and run a test.

Logitech makes very reliable, very good stuff. Yes, I looked at the 920 and liked it. Your camera should be Plug and Play with or without their software. I’ve been using their C615, $50 model of theirs for around 9 years. The first one gave up the ghost after 7 years. So I bought another. I’m not using Logitech’s camera software in Windows 10. And I don’t use “Windows Camera” software because it would be unnecessary. I do lots of Zoom meetings.

Long time-a go I also tried and liked one of their cameras which tracks movement. In this moment I don’t remember why I still don’t have it.
