• Incoming message fonts (Outlook 2000)

I have figured out how to change fonts for replies and forwards in Outlook 2k, but is there anyway to adjust the color and size of the font on all incoming messages? One of our attorneys says that he could do that on Outlook 98, and he wants it now or Outlook 98 back. I’d appreciate any suggestions you might have. I thought about trying to set him up to receive all his mail as Plain Text, but then he loses pictures, attachments and formatting in documents he might receive.

      Hi Karnie
I don’t know about all messages, but it’s possible to change the font and colour of a message when it’s listed in Inbox. I don’t think it’s possible to change the font/colour of the text in the actual message, though.
To change how the message is listed, click on the Organize button on the standard toolbar. Select organize by colours. Then set up the rule (e.g. all messages from karniem and then click on Automatic Formatting. Select the rule which has just been created and you can change the font/colour that is used to display the message.
Not sure if this is what you want, but hope it helps a bit at least.

Thanks, Silverback. I’m aware of the ways to use colors under the organize feature, but appreciate your attempt to help. It’s the actual body of the message where he needs – as he puts it – more contrast. We’re trying out a different monitor to see if that helps! Thanks for your effort.

I know this is an old post, but I have a similar issue in 2002. Users just came from another email system where they could color ALL incoming messages so as to distinguish they’re new. I know one can organize by colors, but is it possible to have only NEW messages displayed in colored (as opposed to bold)?

use automatic formating (views | current view, modify) and advanced conditions to change the colors of messages recieved today.

plain text, yes. RTF, no. HTML, somewhat.

See tools > options > mail format > stationary fonts.
