• Incoming mail problem

    Hi

    I am using Outlook 2007. For 2 weeks now it seems that there is a lot of information or one big file plus a few smaller files trying to download.

    I have a message at the bottom of the screen saying Updating Inbox 190MB, this number changes between 148MB and 198MB. It started about 2 weeks ago.

    How can a find out from where this is coming or how can I delete this file so that it will not continue blocking my mails. I do receive mails and can send mails but it is quite slower than normal.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

      If you have web access to your email account you could examine the message and take appropriate action.

        Yes I can access my mail through Outlook Web Access, but pardon my silly question, how do I take action once I opened my mail box through Web Access?

        Sorry if it is a silly question but I would really appreciate the help.

      If you can identify the offending email you should be able to permanently delete it.

        Is there a specific place where I can see incoming mails? or where must I search for it?

      If you are accessing the email via Outlook Web Access, you must be connecting to an Exchange server. In that case, the email is already received on the server. So, they would be in your inbox on the server. Outlook just replicates what is on the Exchange server.

        Hi Joe

        Thank you very much, I did not realise it can be solved this easily, but then of course you have to now about the solution first. Any case I found a few files of more than 25MB that caused the problem. As you said after deleting them the problem was solved.
