Access 97 has a max records import from XL of 16383. Saving the XL ss as a DB4 table bypasses that. Does Access 97 have an upper limit on the DB4 format?

I’ve just tested to export a table with 29376 record to a DbaseIV table and reimported it in a new mdb without a problem. I don’t know if there is a limit.

The only limit should be the limit on how big a table can get. I suspect the Excel limit is inherent in Excel, rather than Access. Wasn’t that the maximum number of rows in that version of Excel?

Actually the row limit in Access 97 was 65,536, but previous versions were limited to 16,384 rows. For that reason, the export function in Access was probably limited to 16,384. It’s pretty easy to get around if you simply export to a delimited text file and then pull that into Access.
