First time I’ve tried this, and I am definitely a newbie at this stuff. I am importing a bunch of files from a dBase ‘database’. The thing is complete, AFAIK, with the dbf, mdx, and ndx files available. I do NOT want to link the tables, as I am doing a ‘makeover’.
When I import some of the files, Access does it in one pass; i.e., File | Get | Import, click the table, done.
On others, Access interrupts the import one or more times with a message like ‘Could not find A#dbf’, but if i click thru, the table is successfully imported.
The questions: what is Access telling me with it’s “could not find” message? What does ‘success’ mean in this case?
