I have just setup my new lap top with Office 97. All functions except the import/export filters in Access. I have tried reinstalling from both Office 97 cd and Access 97 cd. On each occassion excell filters are “greyed” and I am told they are loaded. But I cannot import or export to or from excell. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Try intalling the Data Access Pack included in the Value Pack of Office 97. It can be found under VALUPACKDATAACC on the Office 97 CD.

I believe Microsoft has released an update for this but I can’t seem to locate it on their website (typical?!).

I had the same problem with one machine… went in and deselected excel in the install.. whalla.. it now works perfectly…. who knows why.. don’t care ra=eally I suppose.. but it fixed the problem

My install/remove programme refuses to deselect excell. I have tried removing the whole programme. First just Access then the whole Office suite. Then reinstalling but still am no further forward.

I’ve had this problem before and was able to resolve it by following the instructions in the KB Article Q171955 , hope that helps

Will this allow me to import from Excell, or just export from Access?
