I have a column of labels in an excel file (5,000 rows). I want to import into access and use as my header (first row) fields. Is there an ez way to do this? thank you.

The easiest way would be to copy the range and then do a paste special in Excel and select the Transpose option. That will convert the column to a row and you can then import the range into Access without any effort. In the import, tell it the range has column headers and your labels will become field names.

Be aware that there is a limit of 255 fields in a table in Access 2000. I don’t know whether XP is different.
