Apple just replaced my six year old battery in my  iphone 7 Plus (iOS 15.7.2). Now I see this new imessage “IMessage <Date> <Time> You left the conversation.” It appears in some messages but not all. My  ipad and iphone 12, which receive the same messages / emails do not show this iMessage.

Other than the new battery and Apple turning off  the “Find My” app before doing the work, no other changes were made at the Apple store as far as we know.

My question is this: How do I locate and turn that imessage off?

It’s really just a notification, not an iMessage.

      Q. What happens if you toggle iMessage off, wait a minute then toggle it on again?

      Q2. Have you considered re-installing iOS 15.7.2 from iTunes/iCloud?

Q3. iOS 15.7.2 is a bit old now. Have you considered updating to iOS 16.2, preferably using iTunes as it’s a major iOS upgrade? This would, amongst other things, reset iMessage.

      Hope this helps…

Rick, Thanks for your suggestions. They do help….

        Q. Yesterday I did “toggle iMessage off, wait a minute then toggle it on again” as you suggested. But I need to wait a few days to see if the notification appears or not, with one person using either an iphone or android, then with a group of 2 or more people, using a mix of iphones and android phones.

Q2. I  have not tried reinstalling iOS 15.7.2 but I did reset the phone a day or two before the battery was replaced. Reset returned iPhone settings to their defaults without erasing content. Perhaps the reset turned some function on that had been off or vice versa. This is why I’m hoping I can identify a specific button, then turn it off or on as needed to prevent that notification from appearing

Q3. My iphone 7 plus says the iOS is up to date. I think iOS  16 is for iphone 8 and newer models, not my vintage but dependable iphone 7 plus

I will keep trying to find the one illusive setting

      Sorry – you’re right. I didn’t check.
