Windows XP had a great POWERTOY photo resizer that was not available in Vista or Win 7 until now.

That looks like a good find.

But, don’t forget about FastStone Image Viewer for a lot of other reasons in addition to batch resizing.

I like the Powertoy because it shows up on the dropdown list with a right click on the photo you want to resize…It’s claim to fame is speed and easy of use.

Read the fine print at the bottom of the link above’

It is still in beta and does not support versions of Windows launched before XP. Enjoy!

Also I have been using VSO Image Resizer – manage your digital photos

      Pasted from http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/

What resize filter(s) does Image Resizer PowerToy use? Faststone Image Viewer (mentioned earlier) is my favorite for a couple of reasons, namely the batch process is very powerful allowing for much more than just image resizing and concerning the image resizing in particular, it uses the Lanczos3 resize filter and that’s my favorite by far, so far.

I’m wondering about the need for context menu option (speed and ease of use). I use the xnView explorer shell context menu and it has many additional options for photo handling including resize but I never use them, especially now that competent email packages include photo resize , link attachment and background upload.
