Successfully updated Win7SP1 64 with 4565539 (security only), 4565479 (IE), and 4565354 (servicing stack) using W7ESUI_0.2.zip on 8/1/2020.

Opened IE11 today (need it, unfortunately) and a popup asked if I wanted to enable “IEToEdge BHO”. Set it to disable.

Assume this is some kind of conversion of settings/bookmarks/whatever to Chredge, which is also installed but rarely used. Can anyone provide details? Tried a search on “IEToEdge BHO” on AskWoody but no hits. Search engines give no useful help, either.  Properties below:

    Name: IEToEdge BHO
    Publisher: Microsoft Corporation
    Type: Browser Helper Object
    Architecture: 32-bit and 64-bit
    Version: 84.0.522.52
    File date: ‎Saturday, ‎August ‎01, ‎2020, ‏‎11:13 AM
    Date last accessed: ‎Today, ‎August ‎04, ‎2020, ‏‎1 minute ago
    Class ID: {1FD49718-1D00-4B19-AF5F-070AF6D5D54C}
    Use count: 2
    Block count: 3
    File: ie_to_edge_bho_64.dll
    Folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\84.0.522.52\BHO

    Thanks!

Thanks for the link to article. Seems odd the updating program wouldn’t recognize Chredge was already installed.

Oh wait. It’s Microsoft. Nevermind. 😉

Same on Windows 10 except you cant disable it and it opens edge when you visit most sites (e.g. youtube.com, so its impossible to open youtube on ie11 because it gets immediately closed and edge opens with warning that the site is incopatibe with ie and that i must use edge) And also it puts a giant popup on new tab page that says to use edge and also it puts on the menu a Open in Edge option. Basically it destroys Internet Explorer.

I just disabled it in my browser plugins,. using CCLeaner

I don’t use MSIE, I don’t use MSEdge, & I’d not use Windows if I could connect to work without it.

You don’t really. ChrEdge can run in IE11 mode.
