I have a small site. One of my users has a version of IE that, when she goes to a particular site (and only that site), just quits – totally, with no error messages.

In my investigation I have accessed the site from other machines happily. The failure occurs for her user-code, and my usercode (Windows XP SP2) on her machine.

A further test, I used a working machine to make an offline save on a network drive. A click on the .htm file displayed the page for about 20 seconds – then it died again. confused

For what it is worth, the site that triggers this is the home page http://www.des.gov.uk[/url%5D

The site uses Java (although I can’t find the code that invokes it at the moment). Make sure the machine has a JVM/JRE installed, or configure security to block Java.

Thanks Jefferson. I’m sure we do, because we use that same machine to talk to a PABX that has installed it. However, that gives me a couple of things to check out. grin

Jefferson Yes you got it in one! cheers. I reloaded Java.
