• I screwed up; I removed D drive :(

I removed the D drive that had the original recovery programs. I do not care that the information was lost because it was not applicable after a number of changes such as a new mother board.

What I was trying to do was combine the D and C drive to get more free space on the C drive.

How do I now get the unallocated space into the C drive?

I am running XP Home SP3

    Thanks

Free edition of EaseUS Partition manager or any other good free partition manager can do the job. If the un-allocated space appears to the right of the C drive, all you do is extend the C drive to gobble up the free space and you’re done. If the space appears before the C partition, then its more involved; one has to move the C partition left, copying all the data from the C partition that far left, leaving the free space on the right side again and then its the same quick operation to extend or expand the C partition.

If you’re worried at all about the operation, make an image of the drive first if you don’t have one, and, if you don’t have imaging software, EaseUS to the rescue again, ToDo backup free will handle that task.

I use the free mini tool Partitiion Wizard. Very easy.

The instructions for unallocated space to the right or left are similar as EaseUS Partition Manager mentioned by F.U.N. I have both apps, but always seem to use Partition Wizard since that is what I started with.
