I am group A. If I get it I get oh well but, I didn’t get it in this months updates. What’s the deal on this somebody? Is this something u have to go to the Catalog to manually install?????? Thanks.

It’s supposed to be released in flights. Not everyone gets it right at first. Did I remember something about the newer computers getting it first?

Yes @pkcano, you did remember correctly.

The Creators Update will begin to roll out on April 11th. Like with the Anniversary Update we delivered last August, this update for Windows will proceed in phases. Based on our experience and feedback from our customers, we believe a phased approach provides the highest quality update experience to the broadest set of customers. The first phase will target newer devices, especially those we tested together with our OEM hardware partners. We will then expand the Creators Update release to additional devices based on the feedback we receive during the initial phase. We’ll iterate this process over a period of several months until all compatible devices running Windows 10 worldwide are offered the Creators Update.
Windows Phone will follow the same phased approach, with rollout scheduled to begin April 25.

the same happened to me with not being able to get 1703. I do get all other updates incl. patch Tuesday updates. Should I be worried since it has been a month since 1703 rolled out or just wait my turn?

          • #114194

I’d say it is far too early to consider panicking… the first stage of the rollout started a month ago, and was expected to take several months to complete. 🙂

What will happen when Redstone 3 rolls out this fall and a PC is still on Windows 10 Version 1607 or worse yet Version 1511?  I wonder if MS has considered this in the roll out plans for Creators update or Redstone 3.  Things will get very confusing then.  Someone needs to ask MS about this!!!

      • #119223

They are still in the process of rolling it out. It is expected to take several months. Be patient. I haven’t got it yet either.

WinX-Home (1607) laptop with “metered connection” wifi, but when the wifi signal wasn’t strong, plugged in the ethernet cable (same internet source), not realising that was a different, non-metered connection as far as MS is concerned.
Next thing you know, KB3150513 has been installed, and is asking for privacy settings to be reviewed before Creators Update was installed!
Fortunately my help was asked for, so I pressed “remind me later” and promptly uninstalled KB3150513. Checking wushowhide had nothing new from its last check though.
Choosing to wait until 1703 goes CBB is not an option MS are offering Home versions of Windows 10.

If you really want to install the Creators Update before it is offered via Windows Update see the “Windows 10 Creators Update now available” section at Download Windows 10

If I may be permitted to quote @woody:

(As for 1607s not getting 1703, be careful what you wish for. I continue to advise that people proactively BLOCK 1703, until Microsoft declares it “Current Branch for Business” or, ahem – yuck! – “Semi-Annual Channel (Broad),” which should happen in a couple of months.)

You may quote Woody all you want but I have a different view. I’ve not seen any problems upgrading to the CU on the PCs with which I’m familiar. With the proper preparation (i.e. an image backup), upgrading is not a huge risk. An image backup has always been a good discretionary step when installing a major upgrade. I do agree with Microsoft in that for most people it is better to be patient and wait for the upgrade to be offered via WU. I only offered the link for anyone who realizes what they are doing and do not want to wait.

@joep, my reply was aimed at those users and site visitors who may mistakenly think that they must install CU now, to clarify. 🙂

Everyone missed my point.  Say I defer the Creators Update until 12/17.  By that time Redstone 3 will be out via Windows update.  Will Windows update attempt to install Redstone 3 and will jumping from 1607 directly to Redstone 3 cause problems.  I suspect it will and that is a problem with  the slow roll out of Creators Update.

Sometimes sarcasm is read in where it was not intended, and a real question is missed. Happens to me, too. Or a thought is picked up, and goes in a direction unintended. But your question is valid given what we have seen over the last two years.

Ideally, any new edition would accept all newcomers seamlessly, no matter what the system status was prior, for as long as that edition is maintained. Excepting of course any real hardware limitations due to aging out of current tech levels. Why would you want to exclude a potential customer?

But I have not lived in an Ideal World for a very long time. It is a hypothetical at this point, we can hope Microsoft gets it right. If we are disappointed, and a solution exists, it will very likely appear here at AskWoody at that time.

Yesterday I was able to hide KB4013214 Windows 10 Creators Update Privacy Settings for x64-based systems) before it was installed. Does this mean I won’t get the Creator Update through Windows Update anymore? We would like to stick with Version 1607 until the fall update comes out.
Or do we have to install the Creators Update anyway, before we can get Redstone 3?
