Can anyone please tell me why a hyperlink will work fine from Outlook but not from Excel?

In case it is a problem with a file, it is a pdf document – specifically, this one:
http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/m-274.pdf

When I try from Excel, I get this message:
“Unable to open http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/m-274.pdf. Cannot open the specified file.”

  Sorry – a generous coworker let me use their account last week…
  
  My computer has Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 and Adobe Reader 8.
  In case it makes a difference, my MS Office is 2003.

  Try updating your Office 2003 with the latest Service Pack I have a feeling this will sort out your problem.

  There could be other issues as well, especially if it works in Outlook. It’s possible extra spaces or other extraneous information was copied from outlook. You can check and edit the hyperlink by going to the Insert tab and selecting Edit Hyperlink (in 2007). I don’t remember where it is in 2003, but you can use the shortcut CTRL-K, as well. You can also right click on a hyperlink. If it’s a “real” hyperlink, you see Edit Hyperlink on the drop down menu. You can make sure the link is specified correctly.
