I have pdf files that have long, convuluted files names. As an example,

”445,046 Amolder,Klaus,,409291,09-02-2008.PDF” is the value of cell A2.

I am using the following formula in A3: =HYPERLINK(“P:KRAA2009″&A2&””,A2)

If I click on the hyperlink I get the message that the file cannot be opened. If I change the file name and the cell value of A2 to “test.pdf” the formula works fine.

I’m guessing the format of the file name is throwing off the formula. Are there any adjustments to the formula I can make to allow that file naming structure to work?

Egghead,

I don’t think it is the length of your resulting formula as the following works just fine:
      32423-ExcelHyperlinkFormula
It could very well be the final &”” in your formula.

It works for me. Are you sure the full path name and the hyperlink are identical?
