Nothing is updating. There must be a roadblock somewhere. The updates only load so far before there’s a fail. It’s been happening for quite some time but I generally ignored it. Now it’s time to try to figure it out. Suggestions anyone?

      “HP Support Assistant”?

Bloatware, buggy, not really needed, an added “feature”.

Just uninstall it from Control PanelPrograms and Features (you won’t miss it).

If you don’t feel comfortable in uninstalling it, you could always go to the HP support site to see if there is an update for the “Support Assistant”. If I remember correctly, it’s mainly for updating the drivers for your particular model.

Don't take yourself so seriously, no one else does 🙂

HP software, bloatware, buggy, not really needed….
      That’s my experience anyway.

My experience is similar to that of the majority; HP bloatware can make a PC feel old and clunky, it digs in too deep, affecting almost everything – and yet it offers very few benefits.

      Better still, uninstall it.

Well, it’s uninstalled. I’m taking the risk it might affect my other programs. It seems to have already affected HP update.

        Better still, uninstall it.

Models are usually End of Life after a couple of years so you’re not likely to get any vendor alerts/updates if your computer has any age to it.

I have a Toshiba laptop and occasionally turn on Toshiba Tempro which gives the alerts, but as it has been some time since it advised of any alerts/updates, it’s now more out of curiosity when I run it.
