If MS and Office are bugging you, the answer I found was ridiculously simple…..

I uninstalled MS Office, after using it and being Bugged by it for many years, and installed “Open Office” and I’ve had NO regrets.
OH, and Open Office is FREE for home use. It’s hard to beat FREE! Eh?
I use Open Office almost daily, to update an Excel spreadsheet. NO Problems!

      Happy Holidays,

      Or LibreOffice. (64bit version available)

Both OpenOffice and LibreOffice have weak database however if you use Accel.

And they both have Linux versions if you want to deal with your original question of what to do about Windows spamming you. 😀

It might have to do with your forum name and avatar.

What version of Windows and Office do you have? I ask because I don’t see that with Win7 and Office2010 so it must be something newer.

Check the update settings in Office. Also check to see if Windows Update is set to update installed software as well.

BTW, it might be more correct to say that Office was spamming you than Windows, but it’s a minor point.

I had Office 2007 and never got a message like that shown. I did get an email from MS offering Office 365 for a year at $35.

For Windows 10, there is a Windows Store applications called “Get Office,” “Get Skype” and “Get Started.”

Try uninstalling “Get Office” to no longer see this prompt.

      Click “Start” | “Settings”
Select “Apps and Features” on the left side
Find the application on the right side (Scroll down or search)
      Click on the app name
      Click uninstall
Follow the prompts selecting to uninstall.
