How to sort desktop wallpaper slideshow?

Is there any way to customize the sort order of the desktop wallpaper slideshow images in Windows 10 Home? I suspect the default order is by name, but is there a way to sort by EXIF Date Taken, as there is in Windows Explorer?

I think you’re right, it sorts by name. However, there is a shuffle option, which is what I use. They then appear randomly – how random I don’t know – I’m not prepared to sit and watch them to find out! If shuffle doesn’t fit the bill then perhaps renaming the files in the order you want them might help.

Not sure if I am getting what you want – on Win 8.1 you can sort by number, 1.2.3.etc. Maybe you can tie the numbers to the data?

Thanks for the tips. Hadn’t thought of that. I sorted them the way I wanted (by Date Taken) and then just renamed them. Issue closed.
