Nice article, but it doesn’t cover the issue I have with OneDrive – how to specify a folder NOT to sync to OneDrive.  Used to be able to do that in settings, but that option has disappeared on my system.  I even added a data drive to store game files and backups that I don’t want sync’d, but OneDrive has found it and is backing it up anyway.

Something like this From MS —

Open OneDrive settings (select the OneDrive cloud icon in your notification area, and then select the OneDrive Help and Settings icon then Settings.)
        Go to the Account tab.
        Select Choose folders.

That said I have an inherent distrust of syncing by anything and usually find it confusing. In addition One Drive seems too aggressive in it’s initial choice of folders, so you definitely want to select folders which folders are syncing or simply turn it off. I prefer to manually post files to Dropbox. In researching syncing files, I found that there are inherent issues that make it problematic.

The solution is to simply use Google Drive instead of OneDrive. Considerably less buggy.

Only reason to use OneDrive is because it comes company-provided 365 licenses.
