When I update and use wushowhide, the action is not fast enough to stop what I try to hide, namely, an update preview. When I then go to uninstall this update, the KB number does not appear, meaning I cannot uninstall the update!

I use the PKCano method yet the updates begin faster than wushowhide acts.

How do I get rid of a Preview Update that installs and the KB number does not appear in the uninstall presentation?

    Thanks,

    Gunny

You get previews because you ask for it.

      Previews have KB numbers.

In Windows update disable “get the latest updates…”

In a Pro version use GPEdit to disable previews (and bios/firmware, drivers..)

If you can’t find the KB at Windows update – view update history – uninstall updates
run WUmgr and check for list of installed updates. You can uninstall in WUmgr.

You can use WuMgr to hide preview updates, then use your normal update process.

I just use WuMgr for everything ’cause it’s easy. 🙂

If you know roughly when the update was installed, use System Restore to… er… restore your system to a point in time before the installation.

Go into the windows update section, update history, scroll all the way down to the bottom, click on uninstall update and then find the KB then click to uninstall.

Gunny, this may not work for you if you are online 24/7. (But yes, updates are fast & furious.) What I do is pull the plug on my ethernet prior to Patch Tues. Check Win update history, then Win update when offline. Doing this cycles ‘windows update’ and it will show ‘All up to date’ with NO updates, if you sign into your user/admin acct whilst offline. When I do this, I can still access my PC offline. Once I see ‘all up to date’ in WUdate while offline, I can then go back on ethernet, await connection, once connected use winshowhide immediately to run/ use to hide any updates! Works all the time. Just need to pull plug prior to Windows updates are scheduled to appear. Have 24 hrs!
