• How to operate SWF files?

When I convert an AVI file to .SWF, there are two files showing on my desktop. Please see the attached screen shot. How do I use these two files to put them on my blog?

For Flash file, the only thing I have done before was inserting the video files hosted by vimeo.com to Blogger.com. I have never created a flash by myself. Should I upload one of these two files to a web file sharing site first and change the codes?

I open the test.swf with notepad. The codes are as following:

    test.swf

If you have bandwidth restrictions on your blog hosting, consider using Vimeo or YouTube or another service to host the SWF, and then use their recommended embedding code.

If you want to host it yourself, copy and paste the entire into your post (or however it works). Note that you will need to edit the paths (both in the first and in the ) to match the actual location of the SWF file.

        Hi jscher2000,

        Thank you for your reply.

I have difficulty uploading either file to vimeo. Vimeo does not accept SWF file format.

I’m sure you can’t upload the .html file to Vimeo. It isn’t a video.

These seem to be their recommendations for video formats: http://vimeo.com/help/compression%5B/url%5D. If that isn’t possible with your software, try their forums and see whether other Vimeo users can advise you.

        Hi jscher2000,

If I choose the second option you gave me and upload the SWF file to a host server. Let’s assume the direct link to this file is:
        http://storage.com/test.swf

Since I don’t know how to follow your instruction to change the codes, can you rewrite me the html codes as an example?

        Thanks,

In your and tags, change the path to the new location of the video:

          Does that work?

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
