I get nothing when I use your examples.  I use Win11 Home (23H2) with  a local account. I also use REVO UNINSTALLER for my uninstalls (although some programs aren’t listed, so I use the normal Windows uninstall/remove function). Can you provide some examples, for the functions you mention, that would apply to my situation?

Mary, thanks for explaining some of the mysteries of the Microsoft Store.  I use some store apps, and wish I could create shortcuts on my desktop to them like I do with “normal” installed apps.  However, all my efforts have failed.  Is this possible to do this with store apps, and if so, could you explain how?

You can absolutely use the AppsFolder technique below, but there’s an easier way; find the app on the Start menu (if you’re using Windows 11, you’ll probably have to look in Start | All apps) and just drag it from the Start menu onto the desktop and Windows will make a shortcut on the desktop for you.

      Yes, here’s how:

Open a Run box (WinKwy + R), enter shell:AppsFolder and press the Enter key.
This opens the All Apps Explorer window with all install apps (including Microsoft apps) on the PC.
Scroll thru the list and find the Microsoft app you want a shortcut for.
Right click the app’s icon and select Create shortcut.
It will post a message that it can’t place a shortcut in that folder and do you want the shortcut placed on the Desktop instead. Answer Yes and a shortcut to open that app will be on your Desktop.

      HTH, Dana:))
