anyone know the ansi code or any way to get the pi symbol through insert symbol?

The method I use is:—

Change the font to Symbol, hold the Alt key down and type 112 on the numeric keypad.

I do have a True Type Character Set code in doc format which I will try and attach, don’t know where I got it from. Apologies to anybody who has prior claims

If you find yourself needing to use this a lot, you could save the pi symbol as a bit of autotext, and then put a button on your Word toolbar for it.

Happy to explain further if the idea appeals and you don’t know how to do that.

Where are you wanting to insert this symbol?

I have just noticed that Word 2007 now has it on the Insert tab of the Ribbon.

I don’t know if it still exists in a Vista installation, but there is an old program you can run called “charmap”. Run it, select a symbol font you have available and look for the symbol you want. You can then insert it anywhere by selecting the font (Symbol), holding down the ALT key and keying in the number of the character as listed in the bottom right of the charmap window for the selected symbol.
