    When I start Outlook 2010 from my laptop, the view defaults to the empty “Inbox” under “Favorites,” which is always empty even though there are plenty of messages in the Inbox on my IMAP account. This annoying because it requires me to choose the proper Inbox. See below. This doesn’t happen with Outlook 2010 on my office desktop machine.

      Go to File | Options | Advanced. Set the folder you want in the “Outlook start and exit” section.
