Hi, I have just purchased a new computer running windows 8, I am trying to put my Office 2007 onto it, it asks for a 25 digit product key, but mine is only 20 digits, can anyone help?

      Cecil, Welcome to the Lounge.

I just checked my Office 2010 to be sure. The Office key, just like the Windows key is 5 groups of 5 letters/numbers for a total of 25.

See if this Office 2007 articleon what to do with a lost or damaged product key will help.

You are probably looking at the Product ID which is 20 digits, the actual product key is 25 digits. If you have your old PC running, Nirsoft makes a small utility that will show you your Office 2007 Product key (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html).

They make a bunch of very handy tools!

      Cheers,

Thanks, yes I was looking at the wrong ID, I used that Belarc and that showed me the correct key to use. Very handy, thank you!!
