How to extract audio from .mov video?

Got a newbie question for you all.

I have a PowerShot SX130IS that takes HD video with stereo audio.

The output file is MOV I believe.

Is there a way to extract just the audio from the clip and save as .wav or .mp3?

If so, how? (preferably free).

Hello… a search has turned up several … can’t recommend any as i have never tried to do this. ..http://www.ask.com/web?q=Extract+audio+from+video&o=15527&l=dis&jss=0 Suggest that you give some a try … make sure that you do a “Image backup ” beforehand just in case something goes wrong. As some of these “free software” programs can cause problems. :cheers: Regards Fred

I use Oxelon which is freeware. It’s very good at converting video formats and extracting audio.
