This is essentially the same as the post you deleted.

In the first place, it is not polite to delete a post that has been replied to – it makes the reply incomprehensible to others reading it. (I have removed that thread)

In the second place, you shouldn’t start a new thread about the same question.

The following corresponds exactly to the instructions mbaney gave in the now deleted thread:

Select cell F3 (the cell to be formatted)
    Select Format | Conditional Formatting…
Select Formula Is in the first box, and enet =(A3=1) in the second box.
    Click Format…
    Activate the Patterns tab
    Specify the color you want.
    Click OK twice.

See Help 08. If you need to make changes to an existing post, no matter how substantial and even adding an attachment, you can edit your post. Select your post and click the edit button on the top right of the post. Edit away, and add or replace an attachment if you need to.

Also, near the bottom of the post editing window you will see a button which you can use to indicate that you have edited your post, and a pane in which you can enter the reason for the edit. If you use the edit button your post will show with the edited icon at the end of the subject, and other Loungers will know that you have edited it.

I hope this will help you Lounge more effectively. salute

And as an occasional visitor, it would be better to title the thread something like “Conditional Formatting” rather than “Please see the Attachment” (which is not very helpful when browsing).

          Thanks.
