Hot Keys not working

I have macros in Word 2007 and the shortcut keys that I allocated have stopped working.

I have tried to reinstate them using:
Office Button
Word Options
Customize
keyboard shortcuts

I can’t put anything in “Press new shortcut key”
and the buttons at the bottom (apart from close) all greyed out

Anyone got any ideas?

The buttons will stay greyed out until you have put something in the ‘press new shortcut key’ field.

The keyboard shortcut needs to be stored in a template but it is possible that the template is write protected. You choose the template in that same dialog. Is the chosen template locked?
