Heads UP folks..
Troy Hunt. has updated the Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) database on 16th December 2024.
A large breach recently discovered has been added to the database dating back from August 2020!

‘Hopamedia’
Affects nearly 24 MILLION user accounts.

The reported breach exposed the following datapoints:
Email addresses
Names
Phone numbers
Geographic locations
Telecommunications carriers

If affected, this will likely lead to:
advertising scams
phishing
spear phishing
sms phishing
methods of SIM swapping
(hi-jacking of sims due to telecom carrier & numbers being exposed)

So what exactly is this breach or who is it as it’s on my clear score report dark web

User details have been leaked so you may get spam and phishing emails, although it is an old leak so you will already have been affected if you are going to be.

As always, be very wary of unsolicited emails and never enter your credentials into sites you visit from an email link. Always triple check that the site you ended up on is valid.
If the email / site says you need to “urgently” do something, it is probably fake.
