When designing a form, I sometimes leave the Properties form open when I save my form design. Then when I close the design and open any form in normal view, the Properties form is opened, too. I can close it easily enough, but I’d rather have it not open at all when I open a form in normal view. Is there a way to tell Access to leave the Properties form closed regardless of how it was left in design view?

    Thanks.

What you need to do is, at the bottom of the properties form “All”.
You will see a property which says “Allow Design Changes”.
Change that to Design view only.

Now when you open the form in form view, the properties will not load.

Hope this is what you wanted.

That’s the ticket! I figured the “switch” must be somewhere — thanks for showing me where!

My ongoing efforts to test the claim that there’s no such thing as a stupid question continue…
