Hidden metadata and privacy (2002)

I recently read Woody’s Office watch article about “THE CASE FOR PDF” and MS Word metadata and security issues. PowerPoint has become the most used tool for presentations and PPT files fly all over our net.

Does PowerPoint 2002 (or 97) have the same features as Word? I know that it does have the properties option, but what about “revision log” or other really hidden data to the common user, as mentioned in Woody’s article?

There’s an option to remove metadata from PPT files when you save. I’m not at a 2002 machine right now, so I can’t tell you exactly where it is. Check Tools/Options on the Save tab. Also, when you go to File/Save As, if you check the Tools menu in that dialog box, you should have Security as an option. I think you can also remove the metadata there.

I didn’t read the article, so I’m not sure how PPT’s option compares with Word.
