    Hi,

I need help with this chart. Ideally I need to compare 2006 with 2007 data in a stacked column. Any assistance on the sample attachment will be appreciated.

      How about this?

Instead of 2 sets of 2 stacks, it creates columns with 4 series. Every other series has the 2 alternating sets.

Thanks a stack Steve and Drakon.

        That helps!

          You are welcome.

In case it is not obvious, you can separate the spacing between categories with additional blank rows in the data if desired. To get the category label to be exactly in the middle of the 2 requires an additional “trick” (using a second X-axis and datalabels) but your “sample” showed it near the first one so it did not require it.

As an alternative, you could just have two charts – one for each year – of the same size and scale etc. The second chart has plot area fill, chart area fill, axis and gridlines removed and is over laid on the first giving the appearance of one chart as attached.

      cheers
