Every time I start my Windows 2000, there’s a window called “Update” with a sub-window called “Status”, opens. I tried to find the program, but nothing. Is it some kind of MIRC or ??? It is soooo annoying. Please help !

I wonder if perhaps it’s an errant program that is set to launch at boot time. Since Windows 2000 doesn’t have a native tool for startup programs, you could try Mike Lin’s Startup Control Panel to see what’s loading and eliminate possibilities. I’d remove them one at a time unti you find the one that is causing the pop-up.

Another alternative choice would be the registry utility found at http://www.jv16.org/%5B/url%5D . Use the ‘Starting Programs’ page in the registry tool. As it is said “Different strokes for different folks”.
