Help! Save xla to xls (2000)

Please help! A colleague of mine save by mistake his xls file to an addin, as xla, and now when he opens the file, it looks empty, even though in Windows Explorer we can see that the data is there, due to the file size.
Saving it as an xls in Excel or renaming the extension in Windows Explorer wouldn’t work!

Follow these steps:
– Open the xla
– open the VBE (alt-F11)
– Find the entry for the xla in the project eplorer (View, project exporer) and expand it
– find the Microsoft Excel Objects item
– select the Thisworkbook Object
– now open the properties window (View, properties)
– find the entry that reads IsAddin and change it to False
