Is there an easy way to set a header and footer to show only on the first page of a document?

    Thanks,
    Eric

In File/Page Setup…, select the last tab and check “First Page Different”.
Now, you can edit the page header and footer for the first page separately from that for the following pages. The empty header and footer for the following pages will still take up room, though.

Another solution is not to use page headers and footers at all, but insert text boxes on the first page where you want the “header” and “footer” to be.

When you go to View Header and Footer there is an icon for Page Set Up where on the Layout Tab you can turn on “Different First Page” in the headers and footers section.
      Regards
