The newsletter (16.3.0) has an article Freeware Spotlight — Account Profile Fixer, By Deanna McElveen. The article contains a link to paid Windows Secrets Newsletter content from October 8, 2015 by Tracey Capen. I am a paid AskWoody and current Windows Secrets Newsletter subscriber. But I have no way to log in to obtain access to the old Windows Secrets Newsletter paid content. Is this issue ever going to be fixed? Or is this designed not to become part of the integration of the Windows Secrets Newsletter with the AskWoody site?

Eventually the contents of the Windows Secrets website will be imported into AskWoody, but that hasn’t happened yet. And the rollout of access to all content may be a gradual thing afterwards due to the dissimilar structure of the two sites.

Be patient, we are still under construction.

The intent is to bring ALL of the old Windows Secrets Lounge material across – including the old Windows Secrets Newsletters, free and paid versions, and the old paid versions will become free here. Don’t know how close we’ll get, but that’s what we’re shooting for. All 1,000,000 posts.

I followed the Windows Secrets link and was able to log in (using my Windows Secrets login).  I Then could read the entire article.  Hopefully the WS content will be available on AskWoody before the WS site goes dark.

The really cool trick is if we can bring over the content and have the old links work.

          I have my fingers crossed.

Someone had better tell Windows Secrets they are defunct. The subscription page still seems to function (did not go as far as actually doing it).

They pulled the plug on the final stages some time ago.

        I think…..

First of all, many thanks for offering a free years subscription, it is greatly appreciated.

I signed up to it last night and I was taken to a dashboard area where one can see their orders and such but I can no longer find this page, there’s no link to it in my profile so how do you get back to it? Also, is there a list of the newsletters plus members have access to so they can be read in the browser? I thought maybe they would show for plus members in the link at the top when logged in but it only shows the free ones.

We’re moving along slowly here. Sorry.

What we really need is some sort of central status page, where you can see your current Plus membership status, renewal date, change your email address and the like. Unfortunately, we only have finite resources to get all of this working – and first priority right now is to rescue the Windows Secrets Lounge before it goes down for the last time. Literally.

At this point there’s no free newsletter – the Plus Newsletter only goes out to Plus members. Every time we have a new newsletter or alert, it gets posted on this site, and the posted version is available to everybody. We try to have them up roughly mid-day. When they’re available on AskWoody, they appear under the tab at the top that says Newsletter/Alerts.

Current plans call for a reinstatement of the free newsletter – but that’s also down the road a bit. Lots of moving parts.

It still astounds me that the team here has put together all of this infrastructure in about six weeks. It took many painful years for the original Windows Secrets.

Oh, no need to apologise! I don’t post here much but I always read the site and find it a hugely useful resource. I’ve been following along with the great migration so I know you must be snowed under but I was just curious. I certainly saw a dashboard area though after a signed up so it’s in there somewhere, I was just trying to find a way back to it.
