Hard Drive or more?

I was given a computer tower without a hard drive to experiment with. The question I have is–should the powers supply bring up anything?? Things being like the disk drive and or cooling fans? No monitor to connect. Am thinking that the mobo (FiE FR33E-I think) and or the power supply might also be faulty.
Any input will be helpful here. Don’t really NEED to get running–just want to know if it is possible!!

Forgot to add that the tower is a home made unit!!!

In short, yes, fans should turn on. Is there a fan ON your power supply? Does that turn on?

Guess you just answered the question!!!!!! Get no sound out of anything.
The power supply (CODEGEN Switching Model #200X1) does have an intake fan. Appears to have a fan on heat sink and one added as an intake on the rear of the tower.
Looks like I will just be using this as a tool for my education in how this stuff works!! lol

Well, power supplies and hard drives aren’t very expensive, perhaps you could get working ones and use the entire setup as a training aid?

Since I have only myself to teach and too much more modern equipment about the house, I will probably just root about in there some more and then get rid of it.
It was just a stop on the way to recycler anyway!!
