Hard Drive Back up

Hey everyone,

Each time I try to back up my HD “C” to my larger HD “E” it get the following error message: “Error: The device reported an error on a request to write data to media. Error reported: Write protected media.” The back up gets about half way through the process and then the error window. I am attempting to only b/u my document/settings files. Aside from purchasing Norton Ghost, any suggestions?

Thanks Leif….not the one…I have the correct drive path and only one colon…..I’ll keep searching. I recall someone telling me that they thought Win 2K does not have the b/u capability. I may need to purchase some more s/w.

Is this Win2k Pro or Server? Are you running SP-4 and up-to-date with patches?

Are you sure there is enough free space on the backup drive?
