Hard Disk Drive Jumper

I have 2 X 750 Gbyte HDD’s in 2 X Lian_Li Mobile racks. That is 2 caddy’s in drive bays. The drives are SATA Seagate Barracuda.
On the rear of the drives is a jumper block that shows the jumper across what I would call pins 3 & 4.
From what I can understand from the disk label this limits the the transfer to 1.5 Gb/s whereas with the jumper removed the transfer rate is 3 Gb/s.
The exact diagram is SATA Power – SATA Drive – Jumper Block the pins are to the extreme right.
The wording from the disk jumper over pins 3 & 4 Limit to 1.5 Gb/s Operation
No jumper 3 Gb/s operation
This seems to repeat myself but I want to be sure I convey correctly.
Should I use the 1.5 or the 3 Operation?
I am running an AMD 6400+ processor on a ASUS MS2nSLI deluxe motherboard. 2 Gbtes memory.

The way I read that is “The jumper should and can be removed on my system”
I tried to find that advice on the seagate site but I was obviously searching on the incorrect critea.

Thank you agai Al, I will let the Lounge know, previous Posts of mine reveal problems with this system since new (12 months ago) The RAID 1 on the boot drive was taken from the nVidia (onboard) to Adaptec PCI and the disks changed from Seagate to Samsung. That fixed the RAID problem but I now wonder if it might have been a reduction in the transfer rate. The two HDD’s were continually in Verify state not in an Optimal state.
I have just checked the two disks on the table and they both have jumpers. Funny
