You can set the Back Color property of the header section.

If only:-) My headers are bunch of labels with spaces and all Left justified…
However I was asked to have it gray.
So I had tried to place ready-lables on gray label – can’t see letters.
Now I am trying to write ON the solid grey label but something is going on that it takes more space then on single labels and it is longer when printed.

        Thanks so much for helping

Sorry, I don’t understand what you’re doing or what the problem is.

Can’t you make the “backcolor” of your header be gray, (click on your header, or, if no open space, your header bar) and then “lasso” all your labels in the header (select all), click on “properties” if you don’t already have that selected, and make the label backgrounds be transparent? Make sure the “forecolor” of the labels is 0, or some darker gray than you use as the header section background.
