I created a graph in Access 97 based on a crosstab query. It reflects sales by salesperon by month for a period of one year. The report prints one page per person reflecting the months on the Y axis and sales by month on the X axis. By linking the charts to the salesperson table using link child-master, the report works great.

Here’s the glitch: when I open the database and open the report for the first time, it brings the charts up perfectly. If I close the report and re-open it, the pages are blank. However, if I open the report in design view before going to print preview, it again opens perfectly. Why would I have to open it in design view for the report to function properly. I’ve searched the microsoft forum for information but had no luck.

    Any input would be appreciated.

What happens if you print it when you see the blank pages? We’re dealing with this in our commercial application where we occasionally bring up a graph and see the default information rather than the correct data but the graph *prints* properly even though the preview is incorrect. So far, we haven’t found a solution for it and can’t even get it to repeat reliably.

        Charlotte,
I never printed it but will do so tomorrow and will let you know the results. I do notice that the process time is so short, it seems like the query behind the graph just didn’t run. To work around it, I have my print preview command open the report in design view and then in print preview.

I hit a similar problem with a graph which worked fine in Win98 and NT4. Under Win2K it periodically would not update/display properly.
I couldn’t find any rhyme or reason to it. brickwall
After tearing two or three lots of hair out I gave up and rebuilt the Graph report using code. MUCH nicer!!
