I have tried many, many times to install Google Chrome without any luck. I used the standalone many, many times. Failed. I made sure there were no leftover files in the registry or on my PC of Chrome. Checked services to see if Google services was disabled. No Google Chrome there. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium with every update to the moment. At one point I was able to go to OldApps and start with an old version of Chrome and work my way up to the present. But when trying to update to the latest build it failed. OldApps no longer has older versions available. I have Firefox and IE11 which work great. IE11 actually is quite quick compared to recent versions. I really don’t want to go back to Chrome. Just wondering if anyone out there knows a solution to the problem.
I actually tried what someone had suggested as a solution. He said his UAC setting was disabled. Didn’t know why it would matter but when he enabled it was able to download Chrome without a fail notice. I tried that and failed again right now. Google installation update failed Error code 0x8004070f.
Thanks for any ideas on how to fix it.
