okay, i give! I moved my web page to another service, but unless I type in the actual dns numbers, my i.e. goes to the old location. Everyone else seems to have no problem going to the new one just using the normal web name address. I THINK I’ve done all the usual stuff I’m supposed to, but….. sure could use some help.
    thanks

Let’s say you used to host your site with your ISP, but you moved it to a different ISP. Everyone but you experiences this:

http://www.Larry’sSite.com -> look up DNS server for Larry’sSite.com at InterNIC -> get IP address from new DNS server

      You get this:

http://www.Larry’sSite.com -> ISP checks check local DNS cache -> returns IP address for old site

      or this:

http://www.Larry’sSite.com -> browser finds entry in c:windowshosts (or C:WINNTSYSTEM32DRIVERSETC) and uses that

        okay, ….found it.
went to properties of network connections and the ip address of old isp was keyed in.
        thanks,

How long has it been since the move? It takes a couple days for the change to fully take effect (update all the DNS tables).
