I know there is a way to “save” my settings, etc. with a Win2000 utility so that I can return to the setup from a previous date. I don’t remember what it’s called and can’t find it. Can you please assist? How do I start it to save my current settings and system?

You can use the Windows Backup program and check the box to save the “SYSTEM STATE” information.

And restore the “system state” info to revert back.

      I hope this helps.

The “System State” is an excellent tool in backup options. You might also consider a tool like Norton Ghost – which will require a separate device to dump the drive’s image to. This is my savior for a badly hosed system.

You can also use the “Last Known Good” although this is intended for a system that will not boot.
