    Hi all,

I guess I’m posting in the “other” section, because it deals with gmail. I’ve noticed that when composing an email within gmail the following occurs..sometimes. After sending a message to an associate, I look back at the thread and notice that what was a well constructed email when sent, is now readable but the margins/text wrapping etc. are distorted. What were once well formed paragraphs are now fragmented and split up. Anyone have a similar experience or suggestions in this regard?

    Many Thanks,
    Marty

I moved your post to the “Other Browsers and Email Clients” forum.

I’ve noticed that Gmail sometimes messes up the line and paragraph spacing of an e-mail. I don’t know a solution for this problem, so I’ll be following this thread to see if someone else knows of one.

Thanks for the lift Hans….the new lounge l/o is great still getting used to it. The more i thought about it, given the limited spell and grammar checking capabilities of Gmail I may have copied and pasted to Word and then re-pasted, this may have something to do with it. Thanks again

Word may insert a large amount of invisible formatting when it copies text to the clipboard in HTML format. To “cleans” the text, copy from Word and paste into Notepad or another truly plain text editor, re-select it there, copy, and then paste into your browser. Hopefully that will avoid any problems caused by Word.

The only thing I can think of, is that there is an ability to use Rich Formatting, or plain text formatting. It’s right above the compose window.

I use gmail for all my personal emaillings… nothing formal that requires specific margins or similar formatting.

        Hi Christopher,

I thought it might be something to do with the rich or plain text formatting, this appears to happen very infrequently. I may have copied and pasted to Word for spell/grammar check and then re-pasted…this may have something to do with it.

        Thanks again..
