I have not been closely following the W10 forum so this may very well be a repeat.

Getting Windows 10 Without the Wait

The trick is to open Windows Update, but do not tell Windows to check for updates. Instead, launch a Command Prompt window with administrative permissions. When this window opens, go to C:WindowsSystem32 and enter the following command:

Wuauclt.exe /updatenow

Now, switch back to the Windows Update window and click on the Check for Updates link.

BTW I decided to go pro, I saw a ebay for & Ultimate and got it. I forgot that there was no W10 equal just pro so wasted $30. Kick me. again. :(::blink:

Don’t remember seeing that menu when I downloaded. I’d select the first one as the others are most likely Non-US versions.

Hey Y’all,

I got tired of waiting so I decided to try using the USB key again. SUCCESS! Yes, this time it activated automatically without any intervention on my part. I guess MS servers aren’t as busy today! :cheers:

Another option is to use the Media Download tool from MS. I was able to tell it to “download and upgrade now”, and it worked, without a USB key even.
