      Hi Susan,
Edit: I just realized I’m off subject, if you want to move this please do.
While thinking about all the good and bad, and very bad things AI may be able to do my mind took an exit ramp onto a different privacy issue, thanks kg

      ———————————————————————————–

I was downloading an audio app (Maxx Audio) from the Microsoft Store and happened to click on the privacy policy, I couldn’t believe my eyes! Take a look, is this even legal?

      The App can:
The app can Access all your files, peripheral devices, apps, programs, and registry: The app has the ability to read or write to all your files

The app can make changes to your computer and settings
The app can access any of your account info.
The app can run as an administrator without telling you

Access your calendars. Access history of phone calls including Skype, Access your instant messages and account info.
Access your contacts, people, or address book apps. Access your email and account info for your email accounts.
Activate and use any facial recognition hardware. Activate and use any voice recognition hardware.

Install additional software. Activate and use the microphone on your device. Activate and use the camera on your device.
Activate and use WiFi connections between your device, the internet, and other computers

How can this even be legal?

      Thanks,

My biggest issue with AI, the programmers. As we have seen this past weekend with Google Gemini, when a programmer is racist, it shows.

Many many items that must be considered by who is programming AI, and this is not an all inclusive list of items to start looking into, but a start.

      Pro-Life or Pro-Abortion
      Democrat or Republican
      Pro Gun or Anti-gun
      CRT supporter
      Climate Chaos believer
      EV or Fossil Fuel
      Electric Stove or Gas
      Programmers background and family values
      Programmers marital status
Is the programmer an only child or many siblings
      Does programmer have children
      Military service or anti-Veteran
      Pro-Police or Defund Police
      Where born
      Where raised
      Where currently living
      Programmers music taste
      Programmers movie taste
      Programmers reading taste
      Programmers food taste
      Programmers drink taste (non-alcoholic)
      Programmers drink taste (alcoholic)
      Religious beliefs/faith
      Past and current financial status
      Ethnicity
      Sexual orientation
      Clothing style
      Body piercings
      Body ink
Single language or multiple languages (speaking and writing)
      Programming language(s)

As you can see, there hundreds if not thousands of items to consider who is programming and how AI is programmed.

So I am not a person seeing AI as that useful for myself. I am in my 60’s now and while I am sure AI will become useful in some areas, I also see places where it will be shoehorned to work whether it is actually needed. It certainly still has a potential to be manipulated and used not for the greater good. Many I think are too eager to jump on the band wagon just because they don’t want to miss out. We certainly thought personal assistants like Siri, Cortana, and Alexa would be more helpful than they are. But look at how every big tech company jumped on that wagon. I would like to wait, and see where the wagon goes and make sure it is not riding off a cliff but rather on a solid and logical path before I even consider jumping on the wagon.

Thankfully our very own Master of the Universe Susan Bradley aka Patch Lady will save us from this dastardly terrible fate. Rumors have surfaced about Microsoft Copilot “A secret prompt lets you activate a sinister Copilot persona” and “A hidden prompt lets you activate an alter ego of Copilot with a God complex“. Its horrible I tell you, just horrible.
AI is going to take over the world if we don’t follow Susan Bradley research on this AI subject. Oh thank you mighty Patch Lady!

Well, I just read the BleepingComputer article linked above, and am quite happy to learn that I’ll soon be able to use Microsoft Copilot to “Empty Recycle Bin”! Cuz, ya know, I keep forgetting how to do that; it’s a complicated thing to do, and takes a lot of time and attention to do properly.

It’s so great to be reminded that the folks in Redmond are firmly focused on stuff I really need! And then to remember that they’re even willing to hobble and neglect and kill off useful programs – like WordPad, for example – to make it happen! Thanks Microsoft!

        Hope this helps.makes a point.

Eventually people will recognize AI for what it is:

      Garbage in, garbage out.

AI is not a substitute for intelligence.
